Carpe Diem

The location and room were magnificent, and the hosts kindly provided a cot for our baby. But the stairs to the room are extremely steep, and getting up and down with a seven-month-old and a pram was very difficult. I’m surprised this access limitation isn’t mentioned in the description. Nobody was there to meet us, and we hadn’t been told there would be keys to collect. We stood around until a kind couple at a nearby gallery told us to call. The owner then confirmed where the keys were. We booked a B&B and assumed breakfast was included, but the next morning there was nobody in the room we thought was the breakfast room. We eventually gave up and went to the square. When we texted, they said they would have “loved to make breakfast,” but the owner was having knee surgery the next day. I understand the surgery, but we were frustrated not to have been told in advance. Another review from a couple of weeks earlier suggested this had happened before. I’d already texted about the host table and cocktails listed on the website and never heard back, which should have been a warning. For the price, we expected to be told if half the service wasn’t available. We could have booked elsewhere for the same or less. We flew our parents out and planned to have them stay here, but chose somewhere else once we realized the owner hadn’t explained what wouldn’t be available. I wish them well with the surgery. It’s a lovely place if you’re able-bodied and don’t have kids, and I’m sure someone has enjoyed the breakfast there, but we never got the chance.

A lovely hidden gem in a beautiful, convenient part of the village. Highly recommend if you want to stay in this extraordinary corner of the South of France.

Stephan is a true gentleman and a wonderful host. The rooms are stunning, spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean.

A really nice place in a perfect spot with lovely views. They just need to provide toilet paper and cups for tea.
