We couldn’t get connected to the internet at all, so guests ended up relying on their personal hotspots. Advertising a fast connection and then failing to provide one undermines trust. The linen was clean, but the carpets seemed like they could hold dirt and allergens, and I’d find linoleum or wood more sanitary and easier to maintain. With the heatwave in France, guests also needed good ventilation or air conditioning, and neither seemed apparent.

The friendly staff offered me a room on the first floor, and the parking situation was good. Breakfast had no meat, which suited vegetarians, though I’m not one. The rooms were smaller than I expected and there’s no elevator. I wouldn’t choose it for a holiday, but it’s feasible as a cheap stop on a long trip.

The breakfast was good, with a choice of breads, drinks, and things to put on the bread. Don’t expect extras like bowls of fresh fruit, salmon, or meats, but it’s a good start to the day. The receptionist spoke better than average English. The bathroom was simple but sufficient, and the rooms were just big enough. A family of four might find a longer stay difficult. There’s nice decor and the overall impression was good, though the wooden floorboards squeak throughout the hotel.

The beds were clean, though the carpets weren’t so clean, and the bathroom was extremely cramped, like everything had been squeezed into one space on a boat. The room itself was adequate for somewhere to rest your head. There’s an automatic check-in machine just outside, whatever time you arrive.
