Le Mas Des Hibiscus

The quiet surroundings and swimming pool made our stay at Véronique and Jacques's especially enjoyable. The room was lovely, the bathroom roomy, and we were glad of the air conditioning in summer. There’s a swimming pool, which was a real treat in the heat, and a pétanque court for a game with friends. The rooms are independent, spotless and come with little terraces. There’s also an outdoor kitchen with what you need to barbecue and wash dishes outside. Véronique and Jacques are such lovely, warm hosts and do all they can to make your stay memorable. The place is peaceful and in a dream setting. We also found out there’s a separate, brand-new gîte apartment for four, fully independent. We’ll have to try that one next time with the family. I recommend it 1000%!

A convenient base for exploring the area. The owners were charming and explained the house rules and where to find things, which helped me feel looked after. They were attentive throughout, but never intrusive, and I found that very pleasant. The rooms are on the small side, but cozy and equipped with what you need. The air conditioning worked really well, and I actually liked that there was no TV. Rooms differ: some windows face north, others south, looking either at the retaining wall or the surrounding area. There’s just a sheet to cover up with, which I’m not keen on, but that’s France, after all. Breakfast was the usual French sweet-only kind, with good quality and a nice range. It varied a little each day. The coffee was my favorite, delicious and served in an interesting way. The pool is nice, about 5x10m and up to 2.5m deep. Its sloping sides make it comfortable and safe. The outdoor kitchen is handy and has what you need to prepare and eat your own food, including a fridge for storing your things. Parking is convenient, though the lot isn’t very big. The access road is very steep, which seems typical for the region. The hosts live in the same house, so you have to be okay with them and any guests they might have being around. I recommend the place. Best regards.

The location between the sea and the mountains worked perfectly for us, and the large pool in the lovely garden was great for relaxing. Everything was spotless, with top-notch facilities, including a pétanque court 😉. Jacques and Véronique were friendly, attentive and available, and gave us excellent tips about the region.
