Bel Hotel La Gentilhommiere

The children spent hours playing in the pool and outside, especially on the trampoline and in the hammocks. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the place felt warm and welcoming. We stayed two peaceful nights with our three young children. The rooms were a bit dated, particularly the bedding, but we still had a lovely stay.

After a good night’s sleep, I had a delicious breakfast and some time to unwind in the garden. The mother and son who run the hotel did everything they could to make me feel welcome, and the atmosphere was friendly and peaceful. The castle in Carcassonne was very easy to reach. I’d recommend staying here if you’re planning a visit, and hope to return with my whole family.

The food was home cooked, plentiful, and amazing, and there was lots to see and do nearby. It’s also only a short drive from the motorway. The owner is a lovely lady who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the start. We stayed three nights in Sept 2018. Thank you for such a lovely visit.

I’d give negative stars if I could. We arrived and were shouted at, even though we weren’t late. The place was clearly closed, and when the woman started talking about the police, we eventually left. We had to drive a few hours to where we were staying over the next few days and ask them to let us add another night. On top of that, they refused to refund our money, and hotels dot com hasn’t been much help. Google made me edit this review, so it doesn’t show how I really feel...
