My room had no separate bathroom, so the shower and toilet were all in one space. The shower head kept changing pressure, and the water swung between very hot and very cold. The room itself was very outdated and at times possibly not perfectly clean, although the bed and linens were clean and comfortable. They hadn’t switched the heating on beforehand, and even after we turned it on, the floor was unbearably cold for days. It’s in a pretty remote location, though I guess it was cheap. There are TVs in the rooms, and breakfast is available for an extra fee.

The place was very, very unclean, and the staff were unfriendly and poor at speaking English. Breakfast was just one slice of bread. I first asked about staying but hadn’t booked; they told me all the rooms were full, even though Booking showed they were not. The staff were unfriendly liars. I really do not recommend this place!

The owner gave us ideas for things to do after we’d visited carcassonne. Our room was clean and very quiet, and when they realized we were gluten free, they went out of their way to find something for us at breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

The children loved the pool, and breakfast was a great buffet. We were ideally placed for the motorways and Cité de Carcassonne, so it worked well for an overnight stop. The staff were super friendly, the beds were the best ever, and even with insomnia I slept all night. We also had wholesome, delicious restaurant food in the evening at a reasonable price. Great hôtel.
