The restaurant was a real highlight. We had excellent meals at great value, and Julian gave us a lovely wine recommendation. I've eaten in plenty of world-class restaurants, and this really felt special. We stayed in the Miami and New York rooms, and from the moment we arrived, Julian and Greg made us feel welcome in a place full of warmth and thoughtful details, like being invited into someone's home. We found this little gem on booking.com. The Begals wandering around were so sweet. The only downside was a family of five in the lounge making a fuss about the Bagael babies and speaking rudely to the hosts. Keep it up, and we hope to see you again soon. We bought the boat, so you'll be seeing more of us. Warm wishes, the Leese family.

The breakfast is generous and fairly priced, so I'd recommend having it there. I regret not knowing about the place sooner and trying the restaurant. We arrived at "la Maison" from the GR34 after taking a wrong turn into a swamp, muddy up to our knees, and hesitated at the door because we worried we'd ruin the sweet, elegant place, which feels more like a three or four star hotel than its two star rating. We were welcomed like any other guests, without a stare or comment. That kind of professionalism feels rare in France in my experience. The two kind gentlemen running this unusual little gem make the welcome feel natural. The rooms are less sophisticated than the lobby and fit the hotel's two star rating, but they're fair, with a light touch of originality and taste in the decor. La Maison is also a wine bar with a few cocktails. If I were being picky, the cocktails could be brought up to the same level as the rest. Merci. Dogs are welcome, and their own dog is the sweetest!

Pierre, the host and co-owner, made sure everyone was looked after and ran the front of house like a proper host. The food sounded simple from the descriptions, but the flavors had real depth, and the photos don't do it justice. We had an excellent meal in a comfortable, home-like setting, and the prices were great. The ice cream was a HUGE hit at the end. I've attached a picture of the menu from the night we ate there.

The breakfast was nice, and the beach is an easy, very short walk away. The guesthouse-style hotel was lovely, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed could be better quality, but all in all we had a great stay. Thank you!
