The little troglodyte village in Trôo was lovely to explore. We stayed one night at Café Couette using a gift box. The welcome felt cool at first, though chatting with the owner brought out his interesting passions, especially art, and stories from his travels. Dinner was decent for a B&B.

Dinner comes at 7:30 pm, with no flexibility, which felt far too early. The homemade food was reasonable and the portions just enough, though I do have a hearty appetite. Our room was pleasant and matched the theme, and the bedding was fairly good. The bathroom and toilet were divided off only by an open partition, no door, which could feel awkward. Cleanliness was acceptable, although we spotted a few cobwebs and stains on the bedspread. A decent B&B, but just adequate.

We'd happily return, the troglodyte village is exceptional 👌 The room was quiet and comfortable, the table excellent, and the welcome very good. Our host is reserved, but we liked his discretion. The paintings and decor show traces of his many travels and life experiences. 20/20

Breakfast was supermarket croissants. At dinner, the €30 meal wasn't worth even €10, in our view. There was no cheese at all, so anyone who doesn't eat sugar was out of luck with dessert. The only drinks were tap water or wine, leaving people who like neither with nothing to drink. On top of that, the welcome was icy and the host made us feel like a nuisance. Shameful.

The village is very pretty, and the place has a peaceful, unusual feel, with its mix of themes and paintings 🎨 The host may catch you off guard at first, but he's pleasant and cultured once you get talking. Meals and breakfasts were decent 🍽🍷🍖🥗🧀🍎
