Villa Medicis Trouville-sur-mer

These are apartments, so don't expect service or cleaning.

I’d have given this five stars if I hadn’t needed help from the staff. Their check-in hours are only 9 am to 5 pm, which is awkward when you’re out sightseeing, and the service felt poor. I asked by email for an adapter because my hair dryer’s plug didn’t fit the outlet, but they said they didn’t understand what I meant. Someone could have checked the room and replaced the dryer. I had to leave my hair wet for two days. On the third day, a maid kindly helped and brought me one with the right plug. The place itself is an elegant, well-kept retirement home. My room and bathroom were spacious and spotless, and the kitchen had everything needed for cooking and cleaning. There were clean, scented towels and toiletries too.

The residence is in a great spot and feels welcoming, with a good standard overall. The apartment’s condition was a letdown compared with its Booking.com description, though. The shower seals and mop were in disappointing shape, and the cleaning before we arrived seemed either rushed or not done at all.

We got a really warm welcome. The rooms were tidy, clean, and well furnished, and the place was quiet.
