The hotel is in a quiet spot but still well placed, and the automatic window blinds help keep the rooms soundproof for a good night's sleep. It's bright and cheerful, and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed my four nights here. The staff were all friendly and seemed happy to be there. Adam at reception deserves a special mention for being so patient and helpful. My room was spacious and well equipped. At first I was surprised there was no toilet in the bathroom, but it's in a separate little room, leaving the bathroom roomy and keeping things clean. There aren't any drinks in the room, but there's filtered water in the reception area where you can refill your own glass bottle, plus self-serve tea and coffee all day and night. Breakfast was plentiful, with the usual continental cheeses, meats, bread, fruit and cereal, along with hot food and a "magic" egg machine to cook eggs as you like. The breakfast room looks out over a garden. Even with the weather, it was nice to have coffee while listening to the running water and watching the lone duck look for food. I made the mistake of giving it bread, then read online that ducks shouldn't be fed bread.

The rooms are surprisingly spacious and comfortable. There's a small bar, a dining and lounge area, and a terrace outside for summer. The rooms still have those awful paper cups, but the lobby has free filtered water with proper glasses and free coffee with real cups, so you can take some back upstairs. Getting into the secure parking is a bit of a puzzle at first because you need an entry code, but you only get it after checking in. There's a small pull-in by the entrance, so stop there, check in, grab the code, and take your bags up before moving the car. The parking spaces are large, so you're not squeezed against a pillar. One catch: we used the quick checkout key drop in the lobby, then found we needed our key to get into the secure parking. We didn't see any warning about that.

We've been stopping here for years after skiing, and it's always been a relaxing stay. This year's breakfast had some nice improvements, including local apple juices, cheeses and other local produce, as well as a hot option. The underground parking costs extra and is just tall enough for a VW Transporter without a roof rack. The welcome is friendly and efficient, and there's tea and coffee in the lounge along with a very useful water refill station. Rooms are well appointed and smell lovely. Everything was very clean, and the beds and pillows were so comfortable that we slept really well. We always look forward to coming back.
