The Turelure made a calm base for exploring the Ardèche. Seb, the owner and a fellow biker, was especially helpful when I needed to find motorcycle shops nearby. The people were really friendly, and the whole campsite felt peaceful and spotless. There’s a pool, plus a quiet, safe stretch of river where kids and adults can play. Showers and toilets were clean too. It feels like a big, secure place for children.

The rules make this feel more like a place for adults than a family holiday. We were told every child had to stay with an adult at all times, so our well behaved 9 and 10 year olds couldn’t wander around or play on their own. Parents would have to accompany them to the toilets and every other activity. That’s no fun for the kids or their parents, and feels like prison. We only found this out after booking for the summer. They should just describe it as adult only.

Those cicadas can get noisy! Still, it’s a great base for seeing the Ardeche, with a lovely river close by for a swim when it’s hot. Bread delivery is handy, and the takeaway is nice too. We had an amazing time.
