A cosy, one-of-a-kind place to stay.

The young staff were friendly and very helpful, which was a relief. Still, I found the welcome from the owner mediocre at best, and felt like I was bothering her. The place has real potential, but it was a shame to see it so old and poorly maintained. The pool was cloudy and green. The room’s hygiene was questionable too: there was limescale built up on the bathroom fixtures, and I’d avoid looking in the corners.

We chose this guesthouse for my wife’s birthday, hoping for something special, but the stay was a real disappointment. We even considered leaving after the first night. With no alternative, we stayed, and my wife had coughing fits at night from all the dust. The online photos give a misleading impression. On arrival, the welcome felt neglected, and the condition of the place was worrying: dusty rooms, linens that seemed questionable, bathrooms with defects, odd decor, including a champagne glass in the bathroom, an abandoned pool, and a tennis court we couldn’t use. Breakfast was very basic, with portions strictly measured and unpleasant comments. It’s sad because the farmhouse clearly has charm and potential, but it now seems stuck in a troubling state of neglect. The visible signs even made us wonder about a possible case of Diogenes syndrome, which is fortunately treatable. The place needs new life and management worthy of what it must once have been.
