From our first contact through the end of the March student Model United Nations, everything at the Golden Tulip went smoothly. The staff were warm and helpful every day, especially the hotel manager, Daniel, and Aurane (sorry if I've got the spelling wrong). They handled last-minute requests and made sure both students and staff were comfortable and had a good stay. I'd happily recommend the hotel for a visit or a seminar.

We brought our dog, and the wooded setting outside the city was just what we wanted. The pine smell and quiet made a nice change from the busy city, though you're still in Cannes or Nice in no time. There are plenty of amenities that made the stay pleasant, and the kind service was a good start. It's a really nice place, even if it's a little out of town.

The hotel was very clean throughout. The two things that bothered me were the customer service, which wasn't nice when you don't speak France, and the morning breakfast. There were only a few items, not a full English breakfast like at other hotels.

The one positive was getting 20% back for the broken AC. I'd overheard the manager offering that discount to guests whose air conditioning wasn't working, then had to spend about 15 minutes asking back and forth at checkout before staff refunded 20% of my payment. If I hadn't heard about it and asked, I doubt they would have offered it to me. Getting around was a hassle. I hadn't realized when booking how far into the mountains the hotel was. Reaching it from the airport or getting to the Cannes beach area took real effort, and during the Cannes Lions Festival I waited over an hour for an Uber each time. The room didn't feel like a four-star hotel room. They said they'd upgraded me to one with a balcony, but its AC was broken. I couldn't sleep all night, and when I opened the balcony door, big black ants and bugs got all over my bed. With the door open, traffic was also very loud through the night. Cleanliness wasn't great either. The coffee maker was filthy, with white residue in the water tank and mold inside the machine.

It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself was okay, with modern, very simple decor. Our kids couldn't use the pool because it rained during our stay, which was a shame. Breakfast was mediocre, with a selection that could have been much better. We stopped here briefly before spending the weekend at the tennis hotel further down. For the price, I expected more.
