We had a lovely stay, and our room was quite spacious. The staff were nice too. You can hear noise traveling between rooms, and the floors are a bit crooked, but that comes with a real 500-year-old place. The whole building feels full of history. If you want another sterile environment, this probably isn’t for you.

The staff were nice, but I can’t recommend this hotel. The price wasn’t especially cheap and didn’t match the quality. It’s very old throughout, with worn paint, old beds, dark rooms and barely any light. There wasn’t a shower, and the worn-out carpets, especially in the bathroom, made the description of “charming” hard to understand.

We really liked the larger room and found it very comfortable, especially the bathroom. The hotel is styled like a 16th-century building and has been renovated beautifully. It felt like a museum, which we appreciated. Breakfast was pretty limited, but at €14 it was fine. For us, this is the best place to stop on the way back to Germany, and we’ll definitely return.

A lovely old restaurant with a rotisserie, excellent quality meat, and outstanding food. It’s an ideal spot for a one-night getaway, a couple of hours from Calais on the way towards Lille, and easy to reach by car.
