Manoir de Savigny

Eric shared the home's fascinating story, from the French Revolution through World War 2, and gave us helpful ideas for exploring the area. He's a wonderful host. The gardens and rooms are stunning, and the lovingly restored Manor House was the highlight of our time in Normandy. We hope to return with the whole family.

We only stayed one night, but the welcoming owner and the stunning Norwegian Forrest cat made it memorable. We met the cat on the terrace while having coffee. The 16th century Manoir sits among beautiful gardens with lots of interesting shrubs and trees. Breakfast was generous and really good, and the price was excellent for such a lovely place. It's also very handy for the ferry, and we'd definitely stay again.

We planned on just one night, then quickly chose to stay longer. The hosts were super friendly, spoke fluent English, and gave us good tips for exploring the beautiful region. There are comfortable lounge areas and a self-serve bar, and the house and grounds have a character all their own.

We couldn't stay as long as we'd have liked. The stone manor sits in pretty gardens in a quiet spot, and Eric was incredibly welcoming even though our ferry was delayed and we arrived at 11.30pm. Our room was clean, nicely presented, and had everything we needed. Breakfast is self-serve, with a good choice of croissants, pan au chocolate, bread, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and hot and cold drinks in the elegant dining room. There's also a communal sitting room with a large stone fireplace, plus a first-floor bar with comfortable leather sofas and a TV. Well-behaved dogs are welcome if you contact them in advance.
