We came back the next day to try more, and both the "cassolette de la mer" and "Daurade royale" were amazing. On our first visit, as a Belgian, I thought this place had the best mussles and fries in the region. The Marinière and Roquefort sauces were excellent, and the fries came out crispy and tasty, just how we like them. The boss even brought us another serving of mussles for free after seeing how much we enjoyed them. The couple who run the place are warm and friendly. They chat with you but leave you to enjoy your meal. It’s right in front of the beach, in a square full of restaurants, and I’d pick this one over the others, hands down.

The room was spotless and nicely arranged. I spent three days in a lovely room under the roof on the third floor, though the stairs up there are pretty steep. If your legs aren’t strong, you’d be better off choosing a lower floor. The hotel offers high class service for around 50 Euros, so it’s good value. Staff are very friendly and always ready to help, and they can suggest good restaurants nearby. The hotel sits in the center of Valras Plage, near banks, restaurants, and a supermarket, right across from the city hall (hôtel de ville), and just 50 m from a beautiful beach. It deserves a trendier name.

The bedding was perfect, and the little studio was clean and well laid out. We had a very pleasant stay, with excellent staff and a very affordable price. They accept dogs too! It was great, I highly recommend it. 👍

We spent 3 nights at the Résidence Le Créole. The apartment was basic but functional and enough for a three-night stay, and the receptionist was welcoming and friendly. It’s well placed, 200 meters from the beach and in the middle of the hotel zone. The real problem is the soundproofing. We could hear outdoor noises through the closed windows all night, as if we were outside. The soundproofing really needs to be redone.
