B&B HOTEL Vannes Ouest Golfe du Morbihan

It was an almost perfect overnight stop, about a six-minute drive from Vannes town centre. The hotel was easy to find, with free parking right in front, and the room was simple and no-frills. My husband and I did find two things less comfortable: the windows don’t open, though opening them would have let in traffic noise, and each of us had just one very small, overly soft pillow.

There’s a nice restaurant right beside the hotel for dinner. Our room was basic, little more than a bed and a small bathroom, but it was clean and modern. The air conditioning was great for cooling off in the heat. Breakfast was very basic, and by the time we arrived the food had run out. If you want enough to eat at a suitable temperature, get there early.

The bed was excellent and breakfast was good, and the room and bathroom were otherwise good too. But there was barely space for three people to unpack, and it was disappointing that we couldn’t make a drink in the room or buy one from the broken machine or a staff member. After a long journey, we really didn’t want to go back out just to find a drink.

The automated check-in worked without any trouble. We had a very comfortable one-night stay, and breakfast was good value. The staff we met were polite, friendly and efficient.
