We stayed in the red room on the entry level, with a great bed, a good shower, and air conditioning that handled a hot day well. Breakfast was delightful too. Christine and Antoine were gracious and helpful hosts. Maison de La Garenne sits across from one of the main gates into Vannes, on the garden side of the ramparts. Top notch, and we’ll stay again on our next visit to Vannes.

We couldn’t use the spa, but did wander around the peaceful garden, and we’d stay here again if we return to Vannes. The interiors were lovely, the amenities superb, and breakfast had plenty to choose from, including coffee, tea, and fresh juice. Staff were attentive and shared thoughtful local tips, and we felt at ease from the moment we arrived. We’d arrived late after travel problems left us without signal or internet, and one of our phones wasn’t working at all. It was stressful, but our host greeted us so warmly and was very accommodating. Passing through the gates, we were struck by how beautiful the property was. The whole house had a refined fragrance, and our room smelled wonderful, soothing and luxurious.

City shopping and the port are both easy to reach on foot, and the train stations are accessible too. We stayed for five nights in October 2024 and would happily come back. Christine and her staff were amazing and super friendly. Breakfast was great, with fresh croissants and bread to choose from each day. Thanks for having us, Christine.

The house is beautiful and very centrally located. We stayed with two small kids, and they made things easy, from cots and changing mats in the bedroom to a high chair, children's dishes and cutlery, and even a baby rocker at breakfast. Would highly recommend.
