Breakfast was excellent, with fresh, high-quality products served in a beautiful setting, and the hosts made everything feel warm and personal. Our rooms were elegant, comfortable, and very well kept. Château de Varambon is a magnificent family château, surrounded by peaceful parkland and filled with historic pieces that have been carefully preserved. Some of the furniture dates from the First Empire, so staying there felt like a step into French history. It’s a lovely place to unwind in the countryside and experience an authentic historic château. I’d gladly return and highly recommend it.

The grounds are lovely and spacious, with some fantastic views, and parking on site felt safe and secure. Breakfast had fresh bread and pastries, though there wasn’t much variety. Our room, unfortunately, was a letdown: the bed felt unstable and uncomfortable, and the room itself seemed tired, neglected, and run-down. We also felt uneasy that there was no key or card to lock the door from outside when we went out. The property has the potential to be superb, but our stay was disappointing.

We stayed one night in the tower room and loved it. The bed was big and comfortable, and the bathroom huge. Breakfast was lovely and very French, served in the beautiful library. The owners were very nice, and the setting is gorgeous. It’s a real castel, full of history, and the owner can show you other parts of it, which is so interesting. I’d love to return and spend more time there. If you’re nearby, don’t miss the chance to stay in this authentic castle.

It was a wonderful experience all round. The host made us feel very welcome and told us about the history of the Chateau and his family. The whole stay was amazing.
