The room was spotless, and the bed, towels, and bedding were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, and the staff were kind and attentive, answering the phone when we needed them. Just remember to bring shower gel. We felt cold at night with the air conditioning set to 24°C, and couldn’t fill the tub because there was no hot water. Still, it was a pleasant stay and I’d happily come back. Thanks to Francis, his wife, and the staff.

Breakfast was simple, with homemade products, and the welcome was very warm. Our room at La Coloniale was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with lovely, peaceful views of the surrounding area. A great spot to unwind. We highly recommend this guesthouse.

The owner came across a little gruff at first, as others have mentioned, but I found him straightforward rather than mean. Breakfast was basic but enough, and the place was fairly quiet, apart from the occasional motorcycle. We stayed one night with a Smartbox voucher. It felt expensive for what we paid, and my room wasn’t the one shown in the voucher photos. The room was smaller, though clean, with a TV, a reasonably spacious bathroom, and a decent bed and sofa. We hadn’t realized it was the Lantern Festival, but that caused no problem.

I was disappointed by the reception and wouldn’t recommend this place. I arrived on a rainy, gloomy Sunday around 5 p.m. in mid-October, after booking a room at "La Coloniale" while travelling from Alsace to the Landes region. There was nobody at reception, so I called the mobile number I had. The man sounded annoyed to be bothered and questioned the date of my booking, though he did tell me how to get into the Prune room, not the Perle room I had reserved. He was at a friend’s house for drinks, and nobody was there to suggest somewhere for dinner, so I had no dinner. The next morning there was still no host. A pleasant housekeeper helped with breakfast and settling the bill. The welcome showed none of the basic respect I expected.
