I come back every year and leave happy, though I wish I could stay past August. The staff feel even warmer and more welcoming each time. They keep improving the motel, too: compared with last year, the upstairs rooms now have double glazing, which helps with sound and with changes in outdoor temperature. It’s still a special little place.

The hostess was really friendly, and I liked having tables and sun loungers in the outdoor area. The room felt a little dated, though, and the road nearby is noticeable. Getting to the shops by bike also takes a while.

It’s a fairly nice place, but being near the road means vehicles pass by both day and night. That can be pretty disruptive depending on which accommodation you get, and there’s no air conditioning.

We paid over €500 for just two nights in two standard rooms, which felt extremely expensive for what we got. The receptionist smiled and showed us in, but the rooms and hallway needed attention. There were black marks on the hallway wallpaper, and in the room the wallpaper and ceiling were peeling, with holes and more black marks. It also smelled musty, and the rooms felt very humid. The bathroom floor was stained, and there were mold traces on the shower curtains. The walls are thin enough that you hear people and showers. A proper renovation would make the place feel much more welcoming.
