A decent place for the night, with helpful staff and a room that was fine for an overnight stop. It has more of a motel feel and sits on the edge of Lens.

Francis at reception was really pleasant and spoke very good English. I also thought the steak dinner was amazing. The room had a huge bed and a mini fridge, but the layout had a few annoyances. The toilet is in its own room, separate from the bathroom, so you have to open the toilet door and then the bathroom door to wash your hands. There aren't any sockets beside the bed. They're at the front of the room by the TV, which makes charging your phone near the bed difficult. I also couldn't figure out how to switch off the heating. The wall controls didn't seem to do anything.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with tasty food, generous portions at a fair price, and friendly, efficient staff who kept moving even with lots of diners. Breakfast was delicious too, with scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, breads, cheeses and a machine for squeezing fresh orange juice. The breakfast staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds at Lensotel in Vendin le Visio, France are beautifully kept, with a pool, a play area for children and a fountain. It's very quiet at night. The rooms are older but clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower gets hot with excellent pressure. Frances at reception deserves a mention. He was so welcoming and warm, with a contagious smile and infectious humor.

We stay in more than 40 hotels a year and really enjoyed this one. Francis was working the night we arrived, right at midnight, before we had a booking at a nearby club. We asked about food, and he showed us the restaurant and prepared a three-course dinner for us at that hour. When we got back from our booking around 6:30, breakfast was already ready, with fresh orange juice and fresh bread. Francis was so happy and helpful, unlike anyone we've met at a hotel before. I'd definitely book here again if I'm nearby. Francis, all the best for the future. You're a great guy, and lots of people could learn from you!

Handy for a stopover, set in the middle of a retail park. Every room is on the ground floor and has a wet room, so access is good for disabled guests. The restaurant is currently closed on Sundays, unfortunately. Breakfast is reasonable, but costs extra.
