ibis Auxerre Sud

The staff were helpful when we asked for another pillow, even though there was already one spare in the room. We both sleep with two. The hotel was quiet despite being right beside the highway, and it would suit someone who just wants to get up and drive. For a convenient place to stay in the area, though, I'd look elsewhere. We couldn't work out how to reach it without taking a toll road. Neither the rental car's GPS nor my phone showed another route. Check-ins were happening very late, while dogs barked and raced along the hallway all night. The AC didn't work at all. Breakfast was one of the pricier options at 10€ each, so we ate elsewhere.

We didn't get a single hour of sleep. The room was unbearably hot, and opening the window to get some air only let in a swarm of mosquitoes. My baby ended up with mosquito bites. I expected a simple but comfortable room at an Ibis, and was shocked to find there was no air conditioning. A waste of time and money. I can't recommend it at all. 😞

I had a lovely stay. See you next time!

The beds were clean and comfortable, and for what I paid, I got what I expected. There were a couple of odd problems, like poor plumbing and doors that made a crazy amount of noise when they closed. Breakfast wasn't worth the 10 euro charge.
