Breakfast was nice, with fresh food, and the price felt fair for the quality. They were also happy to fit us in even though it was late. Really good service.

The only thing to plan for is payment: there’s no card machine, so bring cash. Luckily, a Caisse d'Épargne ATM is about a 30-second walk away at the end of the street. We picked Gîte de l'Escapade for a film shoot with a friend. It was close to our filming spots, a supermarket, nearby larger towns like Avallon, and the Yonne River. We only stayed one night, which ended up being our one regret. At €60, it felt like a real treat, and we had no complaints about the booking. Sarah and her father made us feel very welcome. He even shared some history about the local castles. The gîte was spacious and full of character, with lovely wooden beams and two floors. There were two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room with a sofa, a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, and a wood-burning stove. There was even a small fire extinguisher, plus a note on the table with the Wi-Fi code and information about nearby activities and restaurants.

The Arcy-sur-Cure caves are close by and fascinating, and the restaurant just across the street is fantastic. We had a lovely one-night getaway at L’Escapade, with a delicious breakfast and a comfortable room decorated with a lot of care. The welcome was genuinely warm too. Thank you!

We’ve stayed at Espace Voltaire three times now, and Sarah has been just as welcoming on each visit. She really pays attention to how her guests are doing. The rooms are roomy and nicely decorated, and breakfast is excellent.

Sarah and her father were courteous, very accommodating, and gave me a genuinely warm welcome. The property is good quality, quiet, and right in the center of the village. There’s also a garage for bicycles. My main issue was the bed in my room. At 1.95m tall, I found the bedding poorly suited to me. It was an old bed frame, even though the mattress was modern. More generally, I felt there was too much old furniture that hadn’t been renovated or updated. Less is often more. I don’t regret staying overnight, and I mean these comments as constructive and objective feedback. Thanks to Sarah and her father for welcoming me.
