Hotel la Residence du Berry

The location is perfect, and all four of us would gladly come back. The staff were exceptional, and room 204 was great: comfortable for the Paris area, with a great bed. I slept better over those four nights than at any point in our four-week trip. In October, the windows opened for cool nights. Our first room, I think 406, had no Wi-Fi reception at all and its security lock didn’t work, so after talking with the staff we moved. It was my third visit to Versailles but first at this hotel. The room was wonderful, while breakfast was only okay. The price with breakfast seemed fair, but the yogurt wasn’t great and there were very few toppings, no granola or anything like that. Nothing hot was offered, and the coffee was just alright.

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful at this lovely boutique hotel. I was surprised and delighted when they upgraded my room to one with a beautiful balcony. I got to sit there and watch the rain and sky. A great place near Versailles.

I have an office near Versailles but live abroad, and after finding this gem a while back, I now stay here whenever I’m in Paris. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast is very nice. I’m writing because I think they deserve the visibility, though part of me would rather keep this hidden gem to myself. If you’re going to Versailles, stay here.

The room was spotless and well maintained, with a comfortable bed, a desk area, and a nicely sized bathroom. We had booked a double, which felt small by American standards. It overlooked the courtyard, a quiet spot that helped us rest and get over our jet lag. The hotel is close to the restaurants, cathedral, and palace, yet sits on a quieter street, and the location couldn’t have been better. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
