Les Fregates

The location is nice, but ordering and getting our food and drinks took ages. I sat down at 19:00 and didn’t get my order until 19:50.

The restaurant’s windows look out over the embankment and ocean, and the view is excellent. Service was very friendly, and all in all the hotel was good for a 2 star. If you’re lucky, your room windows will face the ocean. Breakfast costs 9.9 euros and could be better: the bread and croissants seemed to be from the day before, and the eggs were only boiled and served cold. The cake was delicious, though. We ate dinner at the restaurant once, but weren’t impressed. The fish soup had no fish in it, just mashed broth; the mullies and oysters were small, while prices were higher than at neighboring restaurants.

The beachside seating is nice, and the fish is okay. But if you want meat, this isn’t the place. My entrecôte was badly burnt, seriously not good, 0/10. What a waste of money. They shouldn’t offer that meal. It would’ve been nice if the restaurant had offered us half the price back.

We stop here often for a drink right by the sea. The staff are friendly and service is good. They have wine by the glass and a selection of beer on tap.
