A terrible welcome, especially from the woman, made this an almost unbearable experience. She couldn’t stand the children and wouldn’t let them talk in the house after 10 pm. We heard her tell her husband, “This is our home, after all.”

We came as a family with children for a bike ride around the Loire, and the experience was bad. The lady’s welcome was cold and distant, though the gentleman was pleasant. It makes you wonder why rent rooms if the hosts behave so appallingly. Very surprising.

We enjoyed breakfast served family-style, just like at home. The guesthouse was friendly and pleasant, the room spacious and very clean, and the owners were pleasant too.

The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the owners were welcoming. We had a lovely time with the welcoming couple and would gladly return. Breakfast was generous, and the location is ideal for visiting the Loire Valley castles.

I honestly can’t understand all the positive reviews. Booking went perfectly cordially, but when we arrived, the hostess’s welcome was appalling. She barely interacted with us except to make remarks, kept watching us, and made derogatory, even insulting, insinuations behind our backs in front of only the children. Who does that? We’d been friendly and respected the many house rules. Maybe we should have just stayed the night. The rooms are very nice. Perhaps wanting to have dinner was our mistake. We’d told the owners and got their permission to eat takeaway pizzas, since the restaurants are 2 km away and we didn’t feel like walking back at night. It was the worst welcome I’ve ever received. I gave the hostess a chance to respond before posting this review, but she hasn’t replied.
