The value for money was very poor. Check-in was only possible after 5:30 pm, and the staff were unfriendly. There were hundreds of rules about keeping the rooms clean, including taking off your shoes before entering the house. It seemed to me the house was rarely cleaned or maintained. The rooms have no toilet, just a shared one on the floor, and no bathroom either. There’s only a sink in the room, with a shower separated by a glass wall.

After a long day visiting Annecy, we came back around 4 am and found someone in our parking spot. Since it was late, I didn’t want to disturb the owner, so I parked in a corner. The shower only gave cold water that night, and it was still not working around 11:30 the next morning. When I contacted the owner, she was rude and said I’d have to pay if I stayed longer, and that I’d already taken a shower. She must have heard us arrive. I tried to stay polite and explain what had happened since I was just on holiday. Eventually she understood and let me use the shower in another room. Only I got to shower, not my partner, because we had no time. She offered us coffee afterward, but we had to leave and declined. I travel often, but this was one of my worst stays. Check-in was after 6 pm, which felt quite late, so I asked for an earlier arrival and a later checkout. The owner either didn’t understand or didn’t want to help, and kept sending me the standard rules every day. I contacted Booking.com, and they managed to change the times to 5 pm and noon. After seven hours of driving in traffic, I arrived around 5:30 pm. The owner wasn’t happy, though in my opinion she shouldn’t mind a small delay for a one-night stay costing 177€. I parked in the spot that had looked promising. I don’t mind taking off my shoes to enter when a place is clean, since I have the same rule in my flat, but the cleanliness was a problem. I rated the stay 3/10 on Booking.com, which I think was already generous. Those three points were for the balcony view. That was my experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation.

The view from here is unbelievable, even photos don't capture it. My cousins brought me for lunch and the scenery took my breath away. The food was just okay for me.

I can see why others have said the same. I put it down to a rustic kind of charm, though lowering the price a bit would probably help the ratings.
