Motel Myriam

It’s a nice, well-run hotel in Vias Plage. Camping sites outnumber hotels there by at least 20 to 1, and this is the only hotel. It’s rated two stars, though I’d say it probably deserves three.

For the great price, we really couldn’t complain. We stayed two nights in a villa. It had three beds for some reason, a big comfortable bed, and a poky bathroom with a very annoyingly placed light switch. Towels and very basic toiletries were provided. There were a few ants in the room, but nothing too bad. It has lots of lights but only the door for natural light. The shower worked well and was warm, and there was a TV with a few channels. The pool looks a bit rustic, but it was quite clean and a nice extra. The water was cold, though not prohibitively so, and there was lots of parking. Service was really great, and we loved the dog at reception. The location was as good as you could get and wasn’t noisy. We made the mistake of taking taxis from the airport, which cost an outrageous €35 each way, so find another way if you can. For a short stay and the value, we had no complaints.

We’d happily recommend Hotel Myriam and hope to return soon. It’s a comfortable family-run hotel, an easy walk from Vias’s main beach, with free guest parking and a large pool. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby, and breakfast is available. The complex also has a cigarette shop and a really nice handmade Italian-style ice cream shop on the main street. The staff were brilliant and ready to help with requests. I can’t recall their names, but on two occasions Hotel Myriam staff helped us contact the car hire company, letting us use one of their phones and speaking with them in French. Thanks again to everyone there!

I’d come back right away. It’s a great place, with a private pool and private parking, on a street full of restaurants and just 100 m from the beach.
