We were told they knew bedbugs were hard to get rid of, but no compensation was offered. That wouldn't have soothed the bites, anyway. The next morning at breakfast, another guest even had a bedbug on the back of his shirt. Breakfast itself was okay. Room 14 looked fine at first, if a little dated, and the reception staff were friendly. The toilet was separate from the bathroom, and so small that anyone over 65kg and 1.7m wouldn't fit, though we found it funny. Later, we discovered more than one bedbug. It was late and reception was no longer staffed. The following day we were moved to room 38. It looked fine, but at bedtime we found bedbugs there too. We hadn't carried them from one room to the other: over the next five days in two other hotels and towns, we didn't find any.

There was a nice breakfast with everything we needed, but it was a long night. Street noise came straight through the window, and there were also sounds from the room above and the one next door. Too expensive for what it is.

The hotel was well located for a quick visit to Vichy, and my room was clean. I had a very comfortable stay :)
