The beds were great, but the rooms really feel ready for renovation. It seems to be run by a group of families who may not be hotel people, though they’re doing their best. Maybe it should be called Hotel Moderate.

We left despite having paid for the room because the receptionist was rude and offered no help when we ran into a problem. He was poorly dressed and not at all courteous; I couldn’t tell whether he was the owner. It was a terrible experience. Whoever’s responsible should either replace the employee or sell the hotel to someone who knows how to look after guests.

It’s a budget place that did the job for us, with a certain old-fashioned charm. The lift is tiny, the floors creak, and there’s a musty smell in the hallways. It feels like time has stood still here.

The hotel feels old and wasn’t clean. Our room also smelled bad on the first night.

The hotel is simple and very affordable, and the staff were lovely and helpful. I’d recommend it.
