Le Gîte du Bousquet

The cottage itself is nice, but the owner’s behavior over our Christmas Eve stay was awful. We booked at the last minute because a family member was seriously ill and explained the situation. We also told her in advance that 15 of us would come for dinner, while we’d stick to the number of beds. Her own rules allowed a one-off meal, and we kept things quiet because two babies were asleep, yet at midnight she made a scene about us having dinner there. It ruined Christmas Eve. I’d avoid this place at all costs. There was no inventory check when we arrived or left. We left the cottage cleaner than we found it and caused no damage, but getting the security deposit back was a struggle. It took a month, and I only got it after threatening legal action.

Tarbes is 10km away, Bagnères de Bigorre 9km, and Lourdes 13km, so the location is great for getting around. The little village is peaceful, the children’s play area is secure, and there’s a barbecue and private parking. We got a warm welcome from a very pleasant host, and the cottage had all the mod cons. The price was reasonable too. I’d be very happy to come back next year. Highly recommended!

Even with gloomy weather and the pic du midi and col de tourmalet closed, we had a lovely week with our friends. Gabriel and Henriette were charming owners and happy to answer all our questions about visits and other things. We were very pleased with our stay. Emmenanuel et Monique de Lorraine

The surroundings were wonderfully quiet, and the cottage was excellent. It was clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely shower.
