Gîte- La Ferme des Chataigniers

The shared kitchen was a great place to spend time with the other guests, and the manager was very accommodating. I had a lovely stay at the farm. The surroundings are pleasant, and it's well placed for walks around the village. I'd recommend it.

We were welcomed so warmly and met some lovely people. Our stay was peaceful and really pleasant. The spacious rooms each have their own bathroom and toilet, and there's lots of outdoor space where children can play and you can enjoy a drink outside. It's also convenient for visiting the D-Day landing beaches, Bayeux, and other attractions.

The breakfast was very good, with delicious local wholemeal bread and plenty of butter and jam. We stayed in a room in the annex, above a kitchen that we were able to use without any problems, though that part of the building wasn't heated. Our room was damp when we arrived, so we were glad there was a space heater; otherwise we would've been cold. The area is well insulated and very quiet, apart from perhaps the neighbors in the next room. And the starry sky was superb, the sort you wish you could see more often.

The shared living room, kitchen, dining room, and garden were all pleasant and practical. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very quiet, and we were close to the D-Day landing beaches and museums. Thanks so much for the warm welcome. We had an excellent stay in Calvados.
