Le Haut des Lys

The owners and staff were courteous, helpful, and fluent in English, which added to an excellent stay. We spent two nights here in late April 2025 while driving through the Loire Valley, and would absolutely recommend this family-run hotel. Our modern room was very comfortable, and the buffet breakfast had excellent coffee and a wide choice of fresh local food. We ate dinner at the hotel on our first night. Looking back, I wish we'd eaten there the second night too: the meal was tasty and great value next to the expensive, mediocre dinner we had at a nearby restaurant. The grounds are lovely, and in good weather you can walk to the Chateau. We hope to return!

Set high on a hill in Villandry, this lovely hotel has beautiful grounds. The rooms are spacious and clean, and it's great value. I highly recommend it.

The room exceeded what we'd imagined, with big windows that opened to birdsong and deer in the meadow. We loved our whole stay: dinner on the first night was delicious, and the hotel team was amazing. It's also well placed for exploring some chateaus. A perfect little gem.

Being able to bring our dog everywhere, even into the restaurant, made the stay especially enjoyable. We also loved relaxing with our own chilled wine, thanks to the refrigerator in our spacious room, either on the sunny patio or in the garden. The room had a beautiful garden view, and the peaceful setting and thoughtful amenities made for a fantastic visit. We can't wait to return!
