O'Vineyards B&B Carcassonne

Joe and Liz were so warm and welcoming that we arrived as strangers and left feeling like family. They can also recommend taxi drivers. The winery is about 20 minutes from Carcassonne, and thankfully Liz arranged for our driver to come back later than we’d originally planned. The tour was everything we hoped for. We started with chilled white wine on the terrace overlooking the hills, then tasted grapes still on the vine just before harvest. Joe showed us the equipment, poured wines straight from the tank, and let us dip a cask. Along the way, he shared stories about the winery’s history and explained how everything is done. Dinner in their beautiful dining room was convivial, with generous, amazing cooking from Liz, including her home-cured salmon. She even adjusted the menu so our young Asian friends could have a home-cooked rice dish.

We didn’t stay overnight, though now I wish we had. The vineyard tour was brilliant and really informative, and Joe clearly knows his stuff. We did the Merrymaking tour, with delicious food prepared by Liz, and had lovely, fun conversations with both Joe and Liz. They were such a friendly, welcoming couple. The wine was delicious, and we’ll definitely order some. I’d recommend the tour to anyone. Go sooner rather than later, as Joe and Liz said they’ll only be doing it for another few years.

The scenery and setting were superb, and the trip was a highlight of our brilliant time in carcassonne. Joe and liz made us feel welcome right from the start. Liz cooked a fantastic 3 course dinner and accommodated our dietary requirements. We booked both the winery tour and dinner, and the hosts were wonderful. We’d highly recommend it, and hope to return to this vineyard for an overnight stay.

Liz’s cooking was fantastic, with delicious food that was beautifully prepared. The meal made the whole experience feel special. Joe and Liz were warm and welcoming, treating us like old friends, and this became a highlight of our trip. We visited O'Vineyards in Carcassonne with our extended family on Saturday 23rd August 2025. Joe made the vineyard tour relaxed, fun, and informative. He spoke with passion and plenty of humor about his own experience setting up a vineyard. We’d highly recommend O'Vineyards to anyone visiting Carcassonne.
