We keep coming back to this historic house. The secure private parking and great local restaurants nearby make the location especially handy, and each visit brings the same old-world comfort, lovely service, and fabulous breakfast. Always a happy stay.

The enclosed garden alone is worth exploring, with a story behind every tree, shrub, and statue. Getting there by car was sheer hell, but I’m glad we made the effort. This is an old private house that rents rooms, not a hotel, and the prices are dirt cheap, excuse the expression. Expect painted ceilings, rock-hard beds, and cats who feel like the house ghosts. In the morning there’s a fantastic breakfast, probably one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I loved every second, and only wish we’d stayed longer. It was our first night of the trip.

Marie was a wonderful host, and the room was spotless, fantastic, and full of history. Breakfast was great too, with pastries, cheese, homemade jams, coffee, and orange juice. Très bonne.

Our host cancelled our booking when we were just 30 minutes from arrival. It was late, and with a child along we had a really hard time finding somewhere else to stay. Then Booking asked us to pay a fee for “not arriving.”

We had a relaxing stay in a lovely townhouse that still has many of its period details. The hosts were attentive, and the room was good value. Highly recommended.
