We were five couples in our fifties, talking through the pros and cons of managing our cycling trip from Toulouse to Sète. The owners were charming, very friendly, and attentive to what we needed. The barge is lovely, with a really charming “spa,” and the rooms were very clean and pleasant. Its spot on the canal is good, with the water right there for your feet or your body in the spa. A very nice barge, highly recommended. P.A.
We were very disappointed. The highway is close, the ventilation is noisy, and a party went on until 1:00 AM, making the noise unbearable. Having the toilet bowl in the room was extremely inconvenient too. There are no walks or excursions available without a car, and they ask for your credit card number when you book.
The welcome was warm, but we weren’t told that both the railway line and motorway run alongside the barge. There’s also a problem with pedestrian access: you can’t leave the site on foot to go for a walk.
A spacious room, a warm welcome, and the sun almost coming out made for a fantastic weekend and a refreshing change of scenery. We’d love to come back for our next birthday.
