We came to La Maison de Velours while cycling through France in September 2018, after a medical issue meant we needed a place to stay while sorting things out. Our host Marie was a wonderful help and support, and after two nights we rode on from Villeneuve Sur Lot with lovely memories and a new appreciation for the warmth and generosity of the French people. The accommodation was spacious, clean, homey, and creative. It's in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, just minutes on foot from the centre ville. The kitchen is fully equipped, there's a lovely patio, and the rooms are comfortable and relaxing. We've cycled extensively in France over the years, and La Maison de Velours, along with Marie's kindness and generosity, will always be special to us.

The owners gave our group a very warm welcome. All eight of us were cyclists, and we had the run of the four lovely, comfortable bedrooms and studios on the upper floors. We could keep our bikes safely and use the perfectly equipped shared kitchen. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

The room was lovely and well equipped, and breakfast was good. The lady running the Maison de Velours was welcoming and helpful. It's excellent value for money, just a short walk from the city center on a quiet street.

We stayed two nights in an apartment at "La Maison de Velours," which Valérie runs, and had an excellent time. She welcomed us warmly, and her conversations and suggestions were useful and appreciated. The apartment is very well equipped, and the shared kitchen has everything you need, even if it seems underused. Breakfast was generous, and the value for money is unbeatable. Thanks, Valérie, for an unforgettable stay!

Right in the heart of Villeneuve, the Maison de Velours was far more than a stopover for us. It's a beautiful, relaxing place where you feel safe and at peace, and we'd be delighted to return. Valérie L. is a big part of what makes it special. Her welcome and all the little things she did for us, which are so rare in impersonal places to stay, really touched us and made a lasting impression. We won't forget Vincent either. He knows the area like nobody else, and helped us discover unusual, surprising places. We'll be back very soon. Thanks again to both of you 🌹 Alix Christelle S.
