We stayed in September 2019, and the host was angry with us from the start. We arrived at 5pm, an hour before check-in, on a 40°C day when everything nearby was closed. She kept yelling at us, even though I felt getting inside then was reasonable, especially given the heat. We'd just flown in from the US and were jet-lagged, so we only wanted to sleep. We bought two apples, some bread, and bottled water for a snack, but she took the bag from my hands and put it in the kitchen because she wouldn't let us bring food to the room. She then insisted we eat dinner there, despite our refusal. When I asked for an iron, she said “the societe” was bad nowadays and someone had stolen it, so there wasn't one. The whole stay felt mean and genuinely unwelcoming.
