Hotel Campanile Villepinte - Parc des Expositions

It's budget-friendly, and the staff are welcoming, nice, and easy to work with. I wasn't happy with the room hygiene, though. The cleaners need closer monitoring, especially in the bathrooms.

The service was quite good, about what you'd expect, and the price needs to be judged against how much a night in Paris can vary with demand. The location is a little far from many places, and the rooms aren't very comfortable. Mine smelled of cigarette smoke, though maybe that was an exception.

The restaurant area really stands out. It’s lovely, the food is incredible, and the staff do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. On my long stay, I spent plenty of evenings on the couch watching Netflix. The reception area is nice too, and the WiFi is excellent. There’s a kettle, which suited me since I always bring tea. I ended up staying about three weeks because of a family health emergency. For a functional, adequate place, it worked well, and I think it’s hard to beat for the price. The area has a lot of working-class immigrant residents, but neither my wife nor I felt unsafe, even when she had to walk or take the bus alone. It’s a very basic but nice motel. I hadn’t realized motels existed outside America, with room doors opening to the outside. The rooms are small with little storage and no in-room safe. The beds are small but comfortable. Since the doors are outside, I had to lower the blinds every night. It’s three floors with no elevator. There is air conditioning, though it’s so weak it’s hard to tell if it works. The bathroom is small, like the room, but adequate.

The hotel staff were great, and the room was clean and nice. It’s an okay place to stay, but the security staff were unhelpful when I arrived after 11 pm. One of them was obnoxious and gave me dirty looks. If I hadn’t prepaid, I would have left.
