We had a lovely, relaxing weekend with a group of 8, and the house rules didn’t get in the way at all. The owner was friendly. The loft sits on a hill between Reims and Epernay, with several villages nearby dotted with small, quality champagne growers’ estates. We stayed a few years ago and would definitely return. I’ve just read the awful report about the ruined wedding there. Very sad.

The apartment feels cosy and spacious, and the garden is somewhere you could happily spend all your time. It’s in a lovely spot near champagne houses, and the woman looking after the place was amazing, so welcoming and kind.

The garden is magnificent, though the groom ended up mowing it himself. As for MRS. SAGESTE, she may seem kind, but I found her fake and prone to gratuitous aggression. She made the BRIDE cry several times over reasons as sordid as the house decor, and we wasted time sorting out problems she had created on a wedding day that should have been about kindness and gentleness. A hostess worthy of the greatest Disney shrews. My advice: RUN before you fall for the false kindness. Once the check clears, the dragon comes out.

The place is magical, but my experience with the owner was awful. During my wedding weekend, after the check had been cashed, I risked being practically forbidden to make any noise on my wedding night. I also had to mow his lawn myself and deal constantly with his aggressive intrusions. His apparent friendliness was misleading. Entrust the day of your life to a caring vendor!

The loft itself is nice, but sound insulation is poor and there’s no Wi-Fi. The sauna was still dirty from the previous tenants, and the owner threatened us over a negative reception review.
