Françoise even helped us find what seemed to be the only train still running to Lille Europe after our trains were cancelled because of strikes. That kindness says a lot about our stay at Le Relais De l’Aube. She also met us at the station, showed us around the village, and shared ideas for meals and nearby sights. I was there with my mum to visit the Australian War Memorial site, and the location made everything easy to reach. The memorial is about a 30-40 minute walk away, and worth the walk if you can manage it. Breakfast was generous and delicious, especially Françoise’s homemade jam and marmalade. She’s warm and welcoming, and I can’t recommend the place enough if you’re visiting the Australian memorial sites, especially the Sir John Monash Centre. There’s still so much I’d like to see, so I’ll be back.

The Sir John Monash Centre is close by, and breakfast was next level. Francious took time to chat with us about places to visit and things to do as we travelled. We only spent one night, but she made us feel at home and even had small gifts for the kids. Such a kind, warm and welcoming host. Highly recommended.

The huge garden out back was a lovely place to sit, and there’s a beautiful bakery on the next street. From here you can walk across the fields to the Australian National Memorial, about 2.6 kms each way. Villes Bretonneux is a beautiful town, and this place is on a quiet side street. Francois was a joyful, helpful host, especially with our limited French. Her English was perfect. Our bright, comfortable room was on the third floor, with a good bathroom, air conditioning and roof windows that let in a gentle breeze. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, continental or cooked. A happy home. I’d definitely stay again if I return to France.

We slept like babies in this quiet spot, and having private parking mattered to us. The owners made us feel so welcome that we didn’t want to leave. The house is a little jewel, and we fell for it straight away. The rooms are nicely decorated and homey, and breakfast was GREAT.

We spent six days here around Anzac Day. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a log every night, and the room was cozy and quiet. Breakfast was superb, too. This B&B is run by a wonderful couple, and I can’t speak highly enough of it.
