Villa Varentia

We spent the morning unwinding by the pool and really enjoyed the garden. Our room at Villa Varentia was beautifully decorated and very clean, and we received a very warm welcome when we arrived. Everything about our stay was perfect. We can’t wait to come back and would absolutely recommend this place.

The spa was immaculate, though watch your step with wet feet, the tiles were slippery when getting out of the pool. I never figured out the hot tub dials, but I fully appreciated what it offered. Louise, our room, was spotless, and the bedding, towels and robes were nice. Breakfast was basic, as petite dejeurner’s usually are, but very fresh, with quality ham and cheese. Cristal’s service was lovely. Her English was about as good as my French, so we each learned from the other. There’s very little food around this country villa, so do your homework if you’re coming for reasons other than visiting Great War sites. It’s a great stopover when driving, with easy autoroute access. One fuel tip, Auchan pumps were the cheapest we saw. We’ve completed what we came to see in the area, so we won’t return, but I would recommend it as a stopover. Merci tres bien Cristal 🇬🇧🇫🇷👍🏼

The ambience was excellent, and the service went above and beyond. Our only issue was that we hadn’t realized how far we’d need to carry our luggage on foot from the railway station.

Just perfect.
