We could walk into town in just a few minutes, which was handy. The campsite was decent, with a level tent pitch and lots of room around us, and it sits by the canal or river. I'd recommend it.

The pitches are roomy, and we could park the car right beside our tent. The man working there was really sweet and helpful. There's a small shop and a restaurant, plus you can arrange fresh croissants for the morning. A really nice place to camp!

The shop and restaurant on site keep limited hours, but they're there. Services are basic, though clean and functional. It's a roomy campsite and an easy walk to a pleasant enough rural French town.

The facilities feel worn out, but the bar and restaurant are nice. Axonne is a lovely old town, though it's very quiet and lots of shops are shut.

Our pitch was a good size, with both shade and sunshine through the day. The site could be lovely, but it needs investment, and the sanitary facilities are barely acceptable. Some dog owners weren't careful about cleaning up after their pets. There's no bakery delivery here, and town is quite a walk. The only water taps were behind the sanitaire.
