The kids were happiest at the pool, with the entertainment and other facilities keeping them busy too. Our cabin was comfortable and had what we needed, though we brought our own kettle. The staff were really helpful and spoke good English. Air conditioning was a welcome extra in July. We had a great stay as a family of four and would happily come back. We also liked that there weren't many British guests.

We enjoyed the pool, especially the warm water, and found the whole site very clean and well kept. Le Val d'Authie is one of the smallest campsites I've stayed at, but that didn't stop me recommending it. Everyone we met on staff, from reception onwards, was friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are tiny, though the food was good, the cocktails were nice, and the service was friendly. The accommodation is modern and suited our needs. Breck and Le Croytoy are pleasant places to visit while you're there.

Everything was kept clean and tidy, and the pitches are spacious, with plenty of electricity hook-ups and water points. The receptionist was pleasant and spoke good English. The pool is big, but much too cold, and it definitely didn't feel like 28°C, as others have mentioned. The showers were disappointing for a five-star site: the water wasn't very hot and you have to keep pressing the button every five seconds. I'd have given the site five stars if the pool and showers had been warmer.

I've stayed here many times with different people and love coming back. The touring pitches are generally large, each with its own water and electricity point. The static caravans are excellent quality, including the accessible ones my father has used on three occasions. The owners and staff are kind, friendly, and wonderful. I'd recommend this as one of the nicest sites in France.

It's a clean, pleasant place for a holiday, especially with children, but the checkout cleaning is a lot of work if you haven't paid for cleaning. You're expected to mop, clean the hob, sink and windows, and defrost and thoroughly clean the fridge, so allow at least two hours. We always leave campsites tidy, but this felt like a great deal to do after paying for the stay. The rules are posted inside the caravan toilet, so you don't find out about them before booking. The welcome pack has just one toilet roll and no handwash or washing-up liquid, so pack those and your other groceries, or you'll spend your holiday shopping.
