Villa D'Eaux

There were a few things that took away from an otherwise lovely stay. The room felt a little small and didn’t have a window looking outside, though the opening in the dome helped a bit. We also waited nearly three hours to get the access code, and some other guests were unfortunately disrespectful at times. It’s a magnificent place, especially if you can book it exclusively and the budget allows. The refined, elegant decor adds a lot to its charm, and breakfast was excellent, with delicious local products. The person who prepared it was particularly pleasant.

The room offered poor value for money. There was no TV or bathtub, and when we got back at 5 pm it was only 16 degrees Celsius. The wall heater wasn’t sized for a 25m² room, the TIFFANY room. When we called with our requests, the hostess said, “It’s coming!” That’s a lovely level of service. In short, it’s a room for a young couple to have sex in while wearing an anorak to avoid getting chapped skin.

The bedding was comfortable and clean, and they provide shower gel and shampoo. There’s no TV, probably on purpose, and no little snacks like coffee or bottled water. We got an attractive rate during a quiet period, though I wonder what it’s like in summer. The setting is magnificent, and the patio made us say wow as soon as we arrived. The rest of the building and the rooms are beautifully decorated, too. It’s perfectly located, just steps from both the town center and the beach.

The setting is beautiful, and the bed is lovely. Check-in is self-service with a key box. There seemed to be little coordination between the Paris concierge, whose response time was two hours, and the housekeeper. We weren’t given any information about how to use or book the jacuzzi, what it costs, or when breakfast is served.
