Les Villas du Château de Lastours

The bungalows were lovely and everything was kept in good shape. We ate very well, especially at dinner, and breakfast was good too. The staff spoke little English, if any.

There’s a lot this place could be, but our stay was disappointing. We weren’t offered room service, and although bicycle rentals seem to be advertised, there weren’t any. The €30 breakfast didn’t feel worth the price. We had told them about the celiac disease when booking and reminded them, but it still wasn’t taken into account. Better attention to details and management, especially in low season, could make a big difference.

We came for motorcycle training and had a very pleasant stay in a lovely room in one of the villas. The estate is peaceful, relaxing, and really well located. We toured the property and winery, tasted some of the château’s wines, and ate at the restaurant. The welcome was warm, and everything went smoothly. The restaurant food was excellent, and breakfast was good too. Our only small issues were a TV that didn’t work and no key for the patio door, though that didn’t cause us any trouble. We’d happily come back.

The staff were kind and attentive, and I enjoyed an interesting tour and tasting after picking up the keys. I also had a look around the boutique, which is elegant and really lovely. The villas at Château de Lastours are magnificent, spotless, and very well equipped. The natural setting is beautiful too. A fantastic stay, absolutely perfect. I highly recommend it!
