Maison d'Hotes Des Toits en Ville

Before heading out to work, I got such a lovely welcome at this guesthouse. Jean-Pierre shared a coffee with me at breakfast, and the spread was generous. His good humor, kindness, and love of the city made it even nicer. The room was spotless, roomy, and comfortable, and I slept like a log. I was here on a business trip and will keep the address for future visits to Lyon. Jean-Pierre and his partner are wonderful hosts.

The beds are so comfortable, and you have everything you need. Breakfast is delicious and generous, a great start to the day. I've stayed here several times, and the host has always been friendly, helpful, and happy to offer advice. I also like the setting, decor, cleanliness, comfort, bedding, and easy access to public transport. I did notice some dust in a couple of spots. There's no elevator, which can be awkward with heavy bags, though the owner is always glad to help carry them. I highly recommend it.

On a very quiet street, this charming little apartment has a terrace and small garden, and it's just steps from a metro station and the shops. It was spotless, simply decorated, and we were greeted with a smile. I highly recommend it. My only regret is that I didn't get to know our hosts better, and that's on me.

We stayed 3 nights in late August and early September 2018. The owner's kindness and helpful tips were much appreciated, and having a private parking space was great since we used the metro often. The station is very close, with a grocery store nearby too. The room was decent, comfortable, fully equipped, and even had a bathtub, though it was a little dusty. Breakfast was fine but nothing special, and there was sometimes an unpleasant cigarette smell. The main issue was noise late at night from people in a rented top-floor apartment, who walked heavily and slammed doors. That was the only real inconvenience.
