Le Château de mon Père

Leah was a great source of ideas for places to visit and things to see, and her excellent English helped since we don't speak French. We could enjoy champagne from the local house in the grounds, or drive 10 minutes down the road for a tasting of their full range. We stayed one night at the beginning of August, but soon wished we'd planned to stay longer. It's such a lovely, characterful place. A wonderful surprise of a stay.

The room was quiet, with a super soft bed and a hot, steamy shower. The chateau has been beautifully renovated, and the owners are a lovely couple who took excellent care of us. We had a wonderful stay at Chateau de mon père. I wish I could give it more than five stars.

It's a magnificent real castle, made into a very comfortable place to spend a night or several. The multi-year work that went into creating it is extraordinary. I can imagine renting the whole place for a wedding or another occasion. It would be one to keep in mind for gathering several families and friends. Magical!

We stayed one autumn night when it was already cold, and the heating impressed us. Keeping a castle warm can't be easy. The room was very spacious, parking out front was ample, and the price was fair. The people were friendly and pointed us toward a good restaurant.
