Bleu D'Orage

The views and nature around the property are beautiful, and the house itself has so much character, with an authentic Normandy feel and lovely details. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay thanks to the welcoming hosts and the atmosphere. My family and I would definitely come back, and we'd recommend it to others.

Such a lovely area, and the owners were incredibly helpful and friendly.

The peaceful setting near Vimoutiers was lovely, and the dishes were clean. But during our rental of several consecutive months, the Wi-Fi issue never got fixed despite repeated reports to the owner. Mice ran around in the attic every night for weeks, and that was left unresolved too. One Monday evening, we even found droppings in the bedding under the pillows, and have a photo. There was also a problem with the water heater early in our stay. Because a payment was three days late, the owner harassed us throughout the weekend. We paid cash each week without receiving an invoice.

We should have checked Booking.com more carefully, since dogs weren't allowed. Still, after five days at the cottage, nobody had mentioned the rule, even though we'd met the owner's daughter and her husband while walking our small, 3kg short-haired dog on a leash. We kept him inside so he wouldn't bother anyone. The property has chickens, cats, goats, and horses. On our first day, a long-haired cat came onto the terrace and vomited its kibble on an armchair. Then at 6 p.m. on the fifth day, the owner told us about the dog rule. In front of our two-year-old daughter, she said she was calling Booking.com to find a solution and said she had asthma. With all the animals on the property, that explanation didn't make sense to us. She never called Booking.com to help us sort something out for the weekend of August 15th. Instead, she told us to leave immediately. Her husband showed no courage, and the owner had no compassion for our situation. We had to rush to pack with our daughter and look for somewhere decent to stay at 8 p.m., out in the countryside. Nobody came to check on us, and there was still no sign of anyone 24 hours later. Their obvious disdain made us sick of the place, and the hygiene was very poor.
