The food came out quickly, and I liked the atmosphere and decor. It feels like the place has stories to tell. The staff were excellent, very polite and patient with French beginners like us. We had three poisson du jour with fries, which was very good, and a beef burger cooked medium rare. It was the first time I'd been asked how I wanted a burger cooked, and you can tell it's proper mince. I'm coming back for Rissotti. Check the specials board inside too, as it lists extra things that aren't on the menu.

The view of Vincennes Castle is lovely, and this is definitely my go-to whenever I'm in Vincennes. I really like their Pain aux raisins. Service was pretty good too: I asked them to add de la crème chantilly to my cappuccino, and they did 🙂. A cappuccino and Pain aux raisins came to just 5 euros, so the prices are really fair.

I arrived late at night to find they had no record of my room reservation and were fully booked, so I was left without a place to stay. They didn't suggest any alternatives, help me find another hotel, or even offer a simple apology. Avoid this place.

This café feels like a scene from a Maigret episode, a real slice of suburban Parisian café life. It isn't the most chic, beautiful, or perfect café around, but you don't get much more “Parisian café” than this.
